BizCheck is a one-to-one session with a business mentor who will give practical advice to boost your business. BizCheck clinics are held nationwide and mentors will give you advice on key business functions including managing your finances, cashflow, business planning, marketing and human resources.
Additional
mentoring services are also available where you can work with a mentor for longer periods and avail of additional support. The fee for further mentoring is heavily subsidised by Fáilte Ireland and can cover a
range of topics giving confidential, one-to-one practical advice to help boost your business.

BizCheck - Fáilte Ireland’s Business Mentoring and Advisory Service provides a session with a business expert and getting started is simple;
Step one: Register for the service
The first step is to complete an online BizCheck Business Review. This should take no more than 10-15 minutes and is designed to help you think objectively about your business and provide your mentor with a brief overview of your current status (detailed financial information is not needed). All information will be held in the strictest confidence.

Step two: Discuss your individual needs
Edel or Mary, from the Business Mentoring team, will call you to discuss your specific needs and priorities and arrange the date for your meeting.
Step three: Meet your mentor
Your mentor will contact you directly to discuss your priorities before the meeting so that your time spent together is very productive.

Fáilte Ireland’s Business Mentoring and Advisory service provides confidential, one-to-one practical advice to Irish Tourism enterprises to help boost your business. You can choose from a number of different service options to meet your particular needs. These service options include:
BizCheck is a one-to-one session with a business mentor who will give practical advice to boost your business. BizCheck clinics will be held nationwide and mentors can assist with a wide variety of business functions (
see examples of Mentoring Themes here).
Mentoring Option 1 - This option provides additional mentoring support to achieve agreed objectives over a four week period providing a targeted response to specific business needs.
Mentoring Option 2 – This option allows for a longer engagement with your mentor who will be available for eight weeks to help you implement changes and achieve agreed objectives.
All of the mentoring options above are heavily subsidised by Fáilte Ireland. Please contact the Mentoring Team to discuss your requirements in more detail.

The key to an effective mentoring experience is the development of an open, honest and trusting business relationship between you and your mentor.
Trust in the confidential nature of the service is important to ensure that you feel comfortable in candidly discussing your business needs, or problem areas, in depth. This level of openness is critical in developing and implementing an action plan that will have a positive business impact. Consequently, to allow you feel “safe” with disclosing sensitive information, all mentors have signed a
Code of Practice agreement.
As an additional precaution, before mentors are assigned to a business, both parties are provided with profile details to ensure there is no conflict of interest on either side.

If you are an owner or manager of an Irish tourism enterprise, yes, you are eligible to participate in BizCheck. To maximise the benefit from mentoring, you must be a decision - maker within the business.
