Food Tourism in Ireland

Food MarketFood tourism is a growing market segment internationally and many tourist destinations are developing this sector as a means of gaining competitive advantage.

Ireland already has much to offer the visitor in terms of our food offering and the potential to build on success to date is significant. As a result Fáilte Ireland, in consultation with other relevant agencies and bodies, has developed a National Food Tourism Implementation Framework.

The National Food Tourism Implementation Framework

This framework sets out a clear vision for Ireland, to be recognised by both domestic and international visitors for the accessibility, quality, and value of our food experiences therefore creating a unique sense of Irish culture and hospitality.

It also focuses on helping to ensure that the consumer aspect of the visit such as the availability and variety of food experiences, food and service quality, value for money and the experience offered at food-related events consistently exceed consumer expectations.
