The Alison Curtis Show discovers Wonderful Waterford

Fun and frolics are expected this weekend as Fáilte Ireland’s Discover Ireland campaign teams up with Today FM's Breakfast with Alison Curtis Show for an outside broadcast live from Carters Chocolate Café at George’s Court Shopping Centre in Waterford City this Saturday 1st August from 8–11am. (See LINK)

In partnership with Discover Ireland, the 3 hour show will see Alison interview local tourism providers from the surrounding area, showcasing some of the unique activities and experiences that make Waterford a fun-filled destination for a short break and to encourage Irish holidaymakers to get out and discover the wonders of Ireland’s south coast.

The outside broadcast is a culmination of a twelve week summer partnership between Discover Ireland and the Saturday Breakfast with Alison Curtis show.  Throughout this partnership Alison has been promoting some of the great festivals and events taking place across the country to encourage the people of Ireland to get out there and explore Ireland and to soak up some unique Irish festival atmosphere.

Fáilte Ireland is encouraging everyone to come out and attend the broadcast from Carters Chocolate Café between 8 – 11am. There will be lots going on with guest appearances likely to include:

Looking forward to the arrival of the popular Today FM show, Gary Breen, Fáilte Ireland's Head of Marketing, said –

“We are delighted to be welcoming Alison and the Today FM crew to Waterford. Alison has a wide reach and appeal, not only is she a pro on the airwaves, she has a significant social profile which is of importance for our ongoing #thisisLIVING campaign.

“Festivals and events are an important component of the Irish tourism product offering providing opportunities to showcase culture, people and places, thereby greatly improving the visitor experience of Ireland. They also help improve the distribution of tourism revenue around the country. Consequently, Fáilte Ireland provides considerable support to festivals and has already invested nearly €2.8m in 216 festivals and events in 2015, including the Spraoi festival which kicks off this weekend.”

There will also be a strong social media element to Alison’s activities as some of her experiences will be shared across Discover Ireland’s social media channels so be sure to find Discover Ireland on Facebook or follow @Discoverirl #thisisLIVING.
