Mid - Shannon Tourism Investment Scheme Seminars

28/08/2008

Already started, a number of free seminars with major accountancy and tax practitioners, organised in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland and Shannon Development, will outline the workings of the scheme.

The recently introduced Mid - Shannon Tourism Infrastructure Investment Scheme is a very valuable incentive for developers and investors planning to establish a range of tourism facilities in areas adjacent to the middle stretches of the River Shannon. The qualifying area stretches from east Roscommon to the shores of Lough Derg and takes in large parts of Counties Clare, Galway, Offaly, Roscommon, North Tipperary and Westmeath.

Investors in facilities such as restaurants, equestrian and water sports centres, spas and a range of other tourism products can avail of accelerated capital allowances. Accountants and tax specialists DHKN are partnering with Fáilte Ireland to hold two detailed seminars which will explain to tourism operators and potential investors the benefits available from this scheme.

Further advice on methods of financing investment in tourism will also be provided. These seminars will take place in the Shannon Oaks Hotel Portumna, on Thursday, 11th September at 4.30 p.m. and in the Abbey Hotel Roscommon, on Tuesday, 16th September, also at 4.30 p.m. If you would like to attend, please contact Eva Dearie, Business Development Manager for the West region, on 086 - 0455055. Also in the Shannon Development area additional seminars are planned on the Scheme in Ennis, 9.30a.m. 3rd September, Nenagh 7.30p.m. 9th September and Limerick City 9.30 a.m 23rd September.

Full details on these seminars are on the website www.shannondevelopment.ie
