Tourism industry continuing to provide generous offers to those stranded in Ireland
20/04/2010
Fáilte Ireland is continuing to work with hoteliers and other accommodation providers in Ireland to assist visitors who have had to extend their stay in Ireland due to travel disruptions. A special range of offers remains available on the Discover Ireland site, www.discoverireland.ie/features/stranded-in-Ireland.aspx, specifically aimed at passengers who need to seek accommodation at short notice as a result of flights being cancelled due to the lingering volcanic ash cloud.
The listing of special offers for stranded visitors is being updated on a continuous basis as more and more offers come in from the industry. Fáilte Ireland recommends that any visitor seeking last minute accommodation monitors www.discoverireland.ie for updated offers.
For domestic travellers who cannot get out of Ireland on planned holidays and mini breaks, there are over 400 special offers currently available on www.discoverireland.ie offering that extra little bit for those who are unable to travel. From weekend and mid week leisure breaks to spa, golf and activity breaks there are plenty of last minute offers to avail of.
John Concannon, Director of Market Development, Fáilte Ireland recently emphasised -
“We appreciate that there will be many Irish people who had planned to travel abroad. However, all is not lost and there is still plenty to see and do on this island. I would urge anyone who wants a break to go to our special offers section on www.discoverireland.ie and check out the attractive domestic alternatives available.”
