180 special Irish tourism offers unveiled in new Discover Ireland brochure

    01 October 2012

The latest Discover Ireland Autumn brochure, which includes 180 special offers, was officially launched last weekend. The brochure, Discover-Ireland-Special-Offers.pdf, was included in number of national newspapers last weekend and is also available in Discover Ireland tourist offices from this week until the end of February 2013.

Speaking about the autumn home holiday campaign, Minister of State for Tourism & Sport Michael Ring said:

“This summer Irish people holidayed at home in great numbers and I would like to thank them for their support for our own tourism industry. Even though summer is ending, there is still a lot to see and do this autumn. I would encourage everybody to get their hands on this Discover Ireland brochure. There are more than 180 great bargains and deals inside as well as great break ideas to suit everyone.”

The brochure, which features over 180 special offers from hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs and holiday homes from all over Ireland, will also be made available online at www.discoverireland.ie/specialoffers . This edition is the “Treats Edition” with many of the featured tourism providers offering treats and other value extras within their offers ranging from free nights and tickets to attractions to spa and dining discounts.  The brochure and autumn promotions are also being supported by linked radio advertising.

Shaun Quinn, CEO of Fáilte Ireland added:

“The range of special offers in our autumn brochure and online are a reflection of the great value there is now in an Irish break – some of the best value to be had in a decade. As our research shows Irish people still value breaks at home and we in Fáilte Ireland are doing all we can to tap this potential by working with tourism businesses to highlight the good value, great quality and exciting experiences to be had.”

The autumn brochure also highlights over 45 festivals and events that can be enjoyed before the end of the year as well as “Railbreaks”, a new initiative launched by Irish Rail to encourage more people to discover Ireland by rail.  Customers have the option to choose from six of Ireland’s leading tourist locations around Ireland’s coastline – Wexford, Tralee, Sligo, Westport, Clifden and Waterford.
Businesses interested in being included in the brochures can register their interest here.
