A new DVD designed to attract more conferences to Dublin has been released online by Fáilte Ireland’s Dublin Convention Bureau (DCB). The three and half minute video promotes Dublin and all that is good about our dynamic capital city with the aim to encourage meeting organisers to choose Dublin as their next destination.
The theme of the video is ‘What makes Dublin different? It’s not one thing, it’s a million different things’ – with the focus on promoting the character of Dublin along with the energy and vibrancy of the city as a world class business tourism destination.
Speaking about the new DVD, Miriam Kennedy, the Fáilte Ireland Manager of the DCB stressed the importance of engaging in this type of promotion –
“When it comes to hosting a conference, Dublin is competing with cities all over the world that all have something special and exciting to offer. It is imperative that we motivate and inspire international meeting planners to want to come to Dublin and to choose our city over our competitors.”
So far this year, the Dublin Convention Bureau has secured €34 million worth of business for Dublin Partners including the recent win of The International Union of Food Science and Technology Congress and the International World Association of Buiatrics (the study of cattle and their diseases).
The promotional DVD will be used not just by meeting planners but by Fáilte Ireland’s conference ambassadors and corporate champions who are bidding to bring their association conference or corporate meeting to Ireland.
Miriam Kennedy added:
“This video gives our conference ambassadors an additional edge when pitching for conferences abroad and will provide the ultimate visual calling card as they seek to close those deals”
