    New Guide for Equestrian Holidays

    08 August 2012

The 2012 Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show was recently launched at the world famous RDS Showgrounds by Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Michael Ring who confirmed that Fáilte Ireland has provided €225,000 in financial support for the event.

The iconic event will run slightly later this year, from August 15th to 19th, to accommodate the London Olympics.

Minister Ring also took time to launch Fáilte Ireland’s new equestrian guide – Equestrian Escapes which is promoting all of the Fáilte Ireland quality assured equestrian centres and will be available in tourist information centres across the country.

Currently 44 equestrian centres have been independently assessed and quality assured by Fáilte Ireland.  The Equestrian Tourism Accreditation provides a platform for equestrian centres that are active in the tourism market or with an interest in developing tourist business while at the same time assuring visitors, both domestic and internationally, of a quality experience.

Speaking at the launch, Minister Ring said –

“Known as the Land of the Horse, Ireland boosts some of the best riding breaks you could wish for – whether you are an accomplished rider or are more blessed with enthusiasm than technique, there are a range of options to suit everyone.

“If you want to be certain that you are choosing an equestrian centre with exceptionally high standards - look for the shamrock symbol.”
