The Gathering Ireland 2013 is proud to present the Emerald Isle Classic this week as the American Football clash between Navy and Notre Dame is set take place this Saturday, 1st September 2012.
The eagerly awaited American Football game will see the largest ever contingent of travelling fans for a stand-alone sporting event outside the U.S. It is estimated that the game will be attended by almost 30,000 Americans and viewed by a further 3 million from their homes in the US.
The game and surrounding events, which are set to provide an economic benefit to Ireland of up to €100 million, also signify the beginning of a major international promotion of The Gathering Ireland as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit Ireland and explore connections old and new.
Given the strong, historic connections between Ireland and America the upcoming Emerald Isle Classic football game between Notre Dame and Navy will be a powerful vehicle for spreading the word of The Gathering to the US market, encouraging them to come to Ireland in 2013.
The Gathering is essentially inviting friends and family from around the world to visit for what promises to be an incredible year.
