How to Apply

Our 4 Step Application Process

1Step 1 Minimum Standards

The criteria for this quality-assurance scheme were developed in conjunction with representatives from all sectors of the golf tourism industry and some external business practitioners.

The scheme is voluntary, and compliance with the minimum quality standards set out in the criteria has to be met in order to receive quality assurance approval from Fáilte Ireland.

Review the supporting documentation below to familiarise yourself with the quality approval process (based on a typical customer visit); and the various areas of your golf facility that will be assessed for quality and standards on the day of the assessment.

TSA will make contact to arrange an onsite assessment. An assessor will visit your establishment to check that the facility and services are present and compliant with our minimum standards for registration.

The assessment is divided up into “quality areas” that represent aspects of the business that contribute to the quality of the customer experience. Each quality area contains a series of minimum requirements.

Each golf-club assessment will follow the customer journey through:

  • The booking process (pre and post arrival)
  • Arrival at the course
  • Reception/information
  • Clubhouse facilities
  • Golf course standards
  • Post-game facilities
  • Exit

The Quality Assessor (QA) will carry out an objective, qualitative assessment of every aspect of your business, from the condition of the facilities to the services offered to the customers. Essentially, a numerical score is given to every aspect assessed and that score equates to a quality level description.
