    Performance measures

    How will you measure the annual performance of trail participants? Some examples include:

    • media mentions

    • an increase in the numbers of visitors

    • an increase in spend

    • additional revenues generated

    • brand awareness

    • keeping records of how visitors heard about the trail.

    This is important, as it can prove the increase in business as a result of inclusion on the trail. This in turn can make for a stronger business case, should membership fees be levied to support marketing and development activities.
