Business Tourism

Fáilte Ireland is the National Tourism Development Authority. Our role is to support the tourism industry and work to sustain Ireland as a high-quality and competitive tourism destination. We provide a range of practical business supports to help tourism businesses better manage and market their products and services.

We also work with other state agencies and representative bodies, at local and national levels, to implement and champion positive and practical strategies that will benefit Irish tourism and the Irish economy. We promote Ireland as a holiday destination through our domestic marketing campaign,, and manage a network of nationwide tourist information centres that provide help and advice for visitors to Ireland.

Our business tourism websites work in partnership with other bodies at a local, national and international level to give you the information and resources necessary to support destination bids and the organisation of corporate events in Ireland.

We have established a Major Events Unit who are tasked with increasing international visitors through the events sector. This is achieved by identifying, bidding for and winning major events for Ireland, in partnership with our stakeholders. To be considered as a Major Event please see our criteria below. If you have a potential event, which fits the criteria, we would be delighted to hear from you to talk through our range of supports.

The Major Events Unit bidding fund is limited, therefore we cannot guarantee funding for every event which meets the criteria.

Consideration will also be given to other factors including, but not limited to, the level of risk associated with the event, relevance to key tourism markets and event timing.

Each event will be evaluated on a competitive basis.
