350 mytaxi Drivers Graduate Fáilte Ireland’s Dublin Welcome Programme

350 mytaxi drivers gathered in the iconic St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Wednesday April 10th to receive their Service Excellence Certificates from Fáilte Ireland. The graduation ceremony marked the successful completion by the mytaxi drivers of Fáilte Ireland’s Dublin Welcome Programme. Since its launch last month, 1,300 drivers have signed up to undertake the online training programme which is designed to maximise every interaction with tourists, by providing great experiences based on local knowledge.

The initiative provides mytaxi drivers with information on the importance of tourism to the economy, Fáilte Ireland’s programme brands and includes guidance on how to deal with customer-service expectations, feedback and queries.

Liz Halpin, Head of Dublin at Fáilte Ireland said:

“We are delighted to partner with mytaxi through The Dublin Welcome Programme and the uptake from drivers has been amazing with over 1,300 signed-up to date. This is the largest number of participants of any company in Ireland to undertake the Service Excellence training. It provides an opportunity for Dublin mytaxi drivers to be recognised for ‘best in class’ customer experience and provision of great visitor experiences.”

Fiona Brady, Head of Operations, Ireland, at mytaxi, said:

“This initiative allows mytaxi drivers to enhance their service offering to customers, by further improving their local knowledge on Dublin's main attractions and customer experience for visitors, through a user-friendly online training course. We are delighted to see the mytaxi driver response to Fáilte Ireland’s Dublin Welcome Programme so far. With cross-border use of the mytaxi app across Europe up 200% last year, this programme is a tremendous opportunity for mytaxi drivers to be ambassadors for our city and benefit from Ireland’s vibrant tourism sector.”
