St. Patrick's Day Atmosphere Proves Perfect Calling Card for Conference-Organisers & Business Travel

St. Patrick

New Fáilte Ireland campaign showcases all  that is great about the Irish welcome

Ahead of St. Patrick’s Day, Fáilte Ireland, has released a promotional video to persuade international conference and meeting planners to choose Ireland for their events.

The video can be viewed HERE

Leveraging the global profile of the St Patrick’s Day festivities, the video showcases all that is great about the Irish welcome and gives a taste of the atmosphere which can be experienced by delegates all year round. The video is part of a campaign which targets a hotlist of international meeting planners who are in a position to influence international corporations and associations to host their next meeting in Ireland.

The video features as part of a wider digital and traditional media campaign led by the tourism authority’s ‘Meet in Ireland’ team in collaboration with Tourism Ireland and Tourism Northern Ireland, - targeting €40million worth of international corporate and incentive business and €70m worth of international association conference business for the island of Ireland up to the year 2025.

Head of Commercial Development at Fáilte Ireland, Paul Mockler, said:

“The message to overseas planners is that the open, welcoming and exciting atmosphere that is showcased over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend is something that can be experienced in Ireland all year round. As well as having world-class venues, landscapes, ease of access and a strong meetings sector, Ireland is renowned as one of the friendliest destinations in the world. From overseas delegates who are considering to come here, we hear time and time again how they want to meet in Ireland to experience the ‘big welcome’ first hand and with this campaign we intend to strengthen that appetite to choose Ireland.”

Fáilte Ireland has already this year secured €42m worth of meetings, conferences, incentives and corporate events for Ireland under their Meet in Ireland and Dublin Convention Bureau brands and supported the Regional Convention Bureaux in Kerry, Galway, Shannon and Cork to convert a further €10m for their regions. The most recent conference win was the Aquaculture Europe - European Aquaculture Society 2020 – which will bring 1200 delegates to Cork.
