Family Fun

In 2007, Fáilte Ireland launched a pilot family holiday initiative in the coastal resorts of Tramore, the Hook Peninsula and Dunmore East. The aim of the project is to work with local tourism operators to realise the full potential of the area and make it famous for family holidays.

The project was extended in 2009 to include Ballybunion, Bundoran, North Wexford and Youghal.

The guiding principle behind this initiative is that all participating tourism operators and their employees make it a priority to deliver a family-friendly service, and understand the importance of a positive attitude and an imaginative approach to exceeding expectations of families on holidays. It’s the first initiative of its kind in Ireland and it presents a great opportunity to develop the resorts, increase visitor numbers and grow revenue for all.
