Natural Heritage
Natural heritage refers to Ireland's geological and ecological systems, which we have interacted with for millennia to create the distinctive Irish landscape that visitors expect to experience and enjoy today.
Development and promotion
Fáilte Ireland's Natural Heritage Development section focuses on how the visitor finds and experiences wilderness, wildlife and natural habitats in uplands, waterways, woodlands and coastal areas; and on how those experiences can be improved, added to, and promoted.
We work with relevant tourism and non-tourism bodies such as the County Councils, Udarás na Gaeltachta, the National Parks, Coillte, Wildlife Service, and Birdwatch Ireland in developing an appropriate framework for the ongoing development of natural heritage as an aspect of cultural tourism, including its marketing and sales development both at home and overseas.
