Co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the
EU Just Transition Fund
Fáilte Ireland’s Digital Transformation Programme has been developed through the EU Just Transition Fund, which is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union. The Digital Transformation Programme aims to help tourism businesses and organisations in the Midlands enhance their digital presence while supporting them through their digital journey.
One-to-one expert support is provided to assess each business’s digital needs, build a digital roadmap tailored to their specific business, with training provided to increase their digital skills and deliver key digital projects to grow online sales. Up to €4.8 million in funding has been approved to deliver the Digital Transformation Programme through the EU Just Transition Fund, with 50% of the funding provided by the European Union and 50% from the Government of Ireland.
From August 2024 to December 2026, Fáilte Ireland’s Industry Digitalisation Team is delivering the Digital Transformation Programme to support and fund tourism organisations in implementing their digital projects. This initiative enables them to better showcase the wide variety of new and existing tourism experiences and accommodation available for visitors across the region.
The Digital Transformation Programme will enable participants to:

Enhance their online presence and visibility with digitally accessible websites and content

Increase their online bookability and drive increased sales by visitors through the integration of new booking systems on their websites

Improve their digital marketing strategies to attract more visitors to their business and to the region

Increase their digital capability and skills

Improve their data processes to be able to make better, more data-driven decisions about their business in the future
66 organisations are currently participating in Fáilte Ireland’s Digital Transformation Programme.
