The Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) aims to strengthen rural economies through the provision of funding for the development and repair of outdoor recreation.Co-funded by Fáilte Ireland, yearly applications to the scheme are assessed on potential benefit to local communities and tourists alike.

The Activities Division works closely with the Department of Rural and Community Development (DRCD). The Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) aims to strengthen rural economies and communities through the provision of funding for the development and repair of outdoor recreational infrastructure.

The Activities Division also works closely with the Rural Recreation Officers in the development of the National Walks Scheme.
