Fáilte Ireland’s 3-day New Year’s Festival Dublin 2024returns next week with a host of free and ticketed events taking place across the county. This year’s festival is expected to attract over 50,000 domestic and international visitors to the capital city.
Developed by Fáilte Ireland in association with the Office of Public Works, New Year’s Festival Dublin will take place from 30th December until 1st January. Over 50 acts will perform across three days in iconic Dublin venues including Dublin Castle and Meeting House Square, Temple Bar. Part of Fáilte Ireland’s ‘Winter in Dublin’ programme, the New Year’s Festival aims to establish Dublin as a must-visit destination to celebrate New Year’s Eve and is an important economic driver for tourism businesses during the shoulder season.
Cian Ducrot will headline the Countdown Concert at Dublin Castle on 31st December with special guests Aby Coulibaly, Kabin Crew & Lisdoonvarna Crew and Saibh Skelly. An exciting new NYF Dublin Music Trailwill feature live performances from Ireland’s up and coming musicians and DJs across a host of Dublin venues including Whelan’s, O’Donohue’s, The Grand Social, The Workman’s Club, Wigwam, The Storyteller and Hyde Dublin.
In partnership with Fingal County Council and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, an NYF Dublin Fireworks Spectacularwill take place at Howth Harbour and Dún Laoghaire Harbour on 31st December at 8pm. Attendees for both firework displays are encouraged to plan their transport in advance and visit www.transportforireland.ie for the latest transport information.
