Fáilte Ireland Winter in Dublin Train Competition 2022 | Terms and Conditions

The promoter of this Competition is Fáilte Ireland, 88-95 Amiens St., Dublin 1 (the “Promoter”). 

All-Winners will be notified by 25th November and each winner will avail of up to 4* single journey rail tickets for ‘The Winter in Dublin Express’ carriage on one of the following trains: 
  • Friday 18th November – Coach E on 09:25 Cork/Heuston  

  • Friday 25th November – Coach E on 11.25 Cork/Heuston  

  • Saturday 10th December – Coach F on 13.05 Waterford/Heuston  

  • Friday 2nd December – Coach F on 13.05 Waterford/Heuston  

  • Thursday 1st December – Coach F on 13.05 Galway/Heuston  

  • Friday 9th December – Coach D on 15.05 Galway/Heuston  

Prizes will be in the form of tickets and will be collected in the relevant destination station by winners after being selected by Fáilte Ireland. It is the competition winner’s own responsibility to use the tickets on the agreed date of departure. These tickets are non-transferrable and non-refundable. It is also important to note that each ticket will be subject to the selected business’ terms and conditions.

1. The prize is up to 4* tickets to experience The Winter in Dublin Express carriage on selected Irish Rail services. *Should a family require more than 4 tickets an application can be made to Fáilte Ireland to be considered at its absolute discretion. 

2. Prize winners will be supplied with a code to book their return journey.  It is the prize winner's responsibility to book this return journey.   Fáilte Ireland will not be responsible for booking or availability of tickets for the return journey.

3. Winners can only join the train at Cork (Kent), Galway (Ceannt) and Waterford ( Plunkett) stations. 

4. Directors, officers, employees, contractors or agents of Fáilte Ireland, Irish Rail and its subsidiaries, affiliates, or advertising or promotional agencies are not eligible to participate.

5. The prize is non-transferable and non-refundable. No alternative prize or cash prize will be offered, and it is not the responsibility of Fáilte Ireland to compensate prize winners if the prize expires before use. 

6. Fáilte Ireland will not accept responsibility for defective goods and services won as prizes and any complaints must be referred to the respective supplier. 

7. The prize winner will be selected at random by Fáilte Ireland from valid entries received and their decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into. 

8. In the event of a cancellation of the scheduled train, Fáilte Ireland will facilitate an alternative, return journey ticket on a standard Irish Rail service, or reschedule the winner on an alternative Winter In Dublin service (if available). 

9. The winners of the competition will be notified individually by email and will be asked to fill out our competition winners form including all passengers' full names for ticket collection in station. This information will be used by Fáilte Ireland and Irish Rail solely for the purpose of administering the competition prize.   

10. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond to the winner notification within 48 hours of notification, an alternative winner will be selected from entries. 

11. Notwithstanding that the winner has been declared, if Fáilte Ireland discovers before the distribution of the prize that for any reason under these terms and conditions the winner should have been ineligible to enter the competition or if the entry should have been declared invalid, Fáilte Ireland reserves the right to determine that that entry is disqualified. 

12. Fáilte Ireland accepts no responsibility for entrants taking part in the Competition and they do so at their own risk. Fáilte Ireland bears no responsibility for any/all liabilities howsoever arising in relation to this competition, including without limitation any personal injury, direct or indirect loss, or damage arising from this competition, or for any loss or damage, howsoever arising. 

13. Fáilte Ireland may not be held liable for any breakdowns, accidents, faults or technical complications in relation to this competition. Fáilte Ireland does not accept any responsibility for late or lost entries due to delays or malfunctions of the Internet; misdirected entries; any problems, delays or technical malfunctions of any telephone,  broadband  or other  network or  of lines, computer online systems, servers, computers, or other equipment or software; failure of any entry to be received; or any damage to the entrants or any other person’s computer,  other equipment or  software resulting from participation in the competition.

14. Fáilte Ireland reserves the right to amend, withdraw or terminate the competition or these terms and conditions or alter the specifications of the competition prize without prior notice. 

15. Entrants consent to the disclosure of their name as a winner (if successful). The winners may be required to take part in publicity or have their photograph taken for social media. By accepting the prize, winners grant, and Fáilte Ireland reserves, the right to use information relating to a winner, including their name and the contents of their submission, in any publicity in any media.

16. Entry into the competition will be deemed to be full and unconditional acceptance of these terms and conditions by the entrant.

17. This competition is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook.com.

18. By entering this competition, each entrant agrees to release Facebook.com and Fáilte Ireland from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind, either directly or indirectly related to or arising from the competition or from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize and fully and effectively indemnifies Fáilte Ireland in relation to any third-party claims whatsoever and howsoever arising. 

19.These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of Ireland and entrants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
