Cliff Coast Destination Experience Development Plan (DEDP)
The Cliff Coast Destination and Experience Development Plan (CCDEDP) is a five-year sustainable tourism development plan for North Kerry and West Clare. It has been developed through research and consultation, incorporating the views of visitors, the tourism industry and the local community, as well as international benchmarking.
The CCDEDP's key objectives are:
-
Ensure local experiences are brought to life by developing the optimal mix of hero and ancillary tourism products that attract visitors and retain them for longer in the destination.
-
Unlock the economic growth potential of an area by progressing a range of key initiatives that will motivate tourists to explore the wider destination.
-
Develop a sustainable basis for commercial tourism by creating and commoditising strong signature, supporting and ancillary experiences that excite both consumers and buyers.
-
Create the conditions to attract leisure visitors to North Kerry and West Clare on a year-round basis, allowing them to immerse themselves actively in the community and interact with local people.
-
Strengthen the value of tourism to the local community by providing sustainable employment opportunities.
