Killarney destination and experience development

Killarney town situated in Killarney National Park in County Kerry in the Southwest of Ireland, at the feet of the McGillicuddy Reeks mountain range. Killarney has been Ireland’s premiere destination for tourists for centuries, drawn by the town’s charming architecture; amenities and heritage sites; a welcoming place where the people are genuinely friendly and helpful, with a diverse range of hospitality and accommodation options and the town’s proximity to the National Park, its wildlife, lakes and mountains.

The Killarney KDEDP is a destination development plan designed to build on a new collective vision for tourism in Killarney. It is designed to enhance the way in which visitors experience the town while maximising its role as the principal exploration base for the wider Kerry tourism economy. This plan has been developed through collaboration and consultation.

The plan will provide a destination development focus for the next five years, harnessing existing strategic plans and examining new projects to create a world class destination.
