Púca Festival

Púca is one of Ireland’s newest festivals and celebrates Ireland as the original home of Halloween, which began as the ancient tradition of Samhain over 2,000 years ago. The original Irish Halloween was a time for feasting, for gathering and for storytelling, as darkness turns to light and the shape-shifting spirits roam the night. The Púca festival is a three-day vibrant and contemporary festival, strongly rooted in tradition, which will take place in four locations across Meath and Louth (Drogheda, Trim, Athboy and Slane Castle). The programme of events is centred around spectacle, music and food (inspired by the harvest at the time of Samhain).

For more information on the festival and programme of events visit the Púca Festival website.

Púca has been developed by Fáilte Ireland in partnership with Meath and Louth County Councils. The festival will play an important role this year in attracting domestic visitors, who support revenue generation and job creation in local communities.

We have gathered a selection of Púca assets and resources through a Púca Toolkit, which we invite you to access and get involved with Púca Festival.
