Who can become a Conference Ambassador?

  • Professionally establishedYou are an academic, researcher, clinician, industry leader, or professional with recognised expertise in your field.
  • Connected internationallyYou hold a role, relationship, or influence within an international association, organisation, or institution.
  • Open to working with Fáilte IrelandYou are willing to engage with Fáilte Ireland’s business events team throughout the bidding and hosting journey.
  • Ready to champion IrelandYou can champion Ireland as a host destination and work alongside Fáilte Ireland's business events team to develop a credible, competitive bid.

What commitment is needed?

  • Acting as Ireland’s lead advocate for a specific bid within your international association.
  • Working with Fáilte Ireland to develop and review proposals, evidence and other bid materials.
  • Building support for the Irish bid among association peers and committee members.
  • Staying involved through submission and decision-making, including presentations or site visits.
  • Supporting programme development and delegate engagement once the bid is successful.
  • Taking part in conference promotion, where appropriate.

    What is included?

    Participants receive

    • Expert advice and strategic support at every stage of the bidding process
    • Access to Fáilte Ireland’s destination materials, data, and promotional assets
    • Financial support is available during the bidding phase for qualifying business events to strengthen the competitiveness of your bid
    • Introductions to local experts, Convention Bureaux, suppliers, and approved Professional Conference Organisers
    • Practical support through to event delivery, including destination planning and delegate promotion

    The programme does not include

    • Direct financial grants to the Ambassador personally
    • Guaranteed bid success or conference placement
    • Support for opportunities that do not meet programme or funding eligibility requirements
    • Ongoing support outside an active bid, confirmed conference, or agreed programme activity
    • Personal expenses unrelated to an eligible bid, site inspection, or conference activity
