Fáilte Ireland’s Short-Term Letting (STL) Register
The introduction of the new STL register will commence following the passage of the necessary legislation.
Fáilte Ireland’s Short-Term Letting Register for all short-term accommodation in Ireland will launch following the enactment of the Short Term Letting and Tourism Bill 2025. This national online registration system will require all hosts who offer short-term lettings to register their unit/units annually.
Fáilte Ireland advises all hosts who may be unsure of their statutory obligations to obtain any clarification necessary to ensure their statutory obligations are being met.
Please see the Short-Term Letting Register page for further details on the Register. All the information on this page is based on the current draft of the legislation and is subject to change.
The Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment (more details found here: Short-Term Letting in Ireland - what you need to know) is currently progressing the Short Term Letting and Tourism Bill 2025, which will align with EU Short-Term Rental (STR) regulation.
Fáilte Ireland will communicate further details in advance of the launch. Please check back as this page will continue to be updated.
