Access for Success: Eligibility and guidelines

Not sure if Access for Success is right for your business? Check the eligibility criteria, understand exactly what the 10-month commitment involves, and find out what you need to have ready before you register your interest.

Before you apply

Check your fit

  • Is your business a hotel registered under the Fáilte Ireland NQAF, or a visitor attraction or activity provider welcoming 25,000 or more visitors annually?
  • Does your business have 10 or more employees?
  • Can you designate one employee as the initiative lead?
  • Does your business operate a physical, visitor-facing facility that can be audited?

If you answered yes to these criteria, your business may be eligible to join Access for Success.

The initiative is open to tourism businesses that meet the criteria below.

What you need to know about State aid funding

Access for Success is co-funded by Fáilte Ireland. This means the support counts towards a €300,000 limit across a rolling 36-month period.

Programme commitment

Access for Success is designed to fit around your business. As a participant, you will:

  • Complete a self-assessment accessibility audit of your facility
  • Attend expert-led and self-paced training on accessible and inclusive customer service
  • Develop an Access Welcome Guide bespoke to your business
  • Designate one employee as the Access and Inclusion Lead for the duration of the programme
  • Pay the participant fee in advance of the initiative start date

What to have ready

Registration is currently closed and will reopen this autumn. If you plan to apply, make sure you have the following ready:

  • The names and contact details of the individuals who will lead and support the programme within your business.
  • Agreement within your business to commit time over the 10-month programme.
  • The legal name of your business.
